Lift-slide hardware for window doors is designed for sliding window and balcony door elements installed vertically and generally made of timber, PVC, aluminium, steel or combinations of these materials. This hardware enables the sash to be opened, lifted, slid, locked and, in certain versions, also positioned for ventilation.
These systems are used for sliding, lift-and-slide, tilt-and-slide, parallel-opening and combined window and door constructions. In combination with fixed elements and other frame components, they provide a durable and functional solution for modern window doors and lift-slide windows.
Open windows and balcony doors only provide a screening function. When open, they do not meet requirements for airtightness, driving rain resistance, sound insulation, thermal insulation or burglar resistance. In windy or drafty conditions, the sash and frame must therefore always be closed and locked.
For safe and reliable operation, only compatible hardware components approved by the manufacturer should be used. Incorrect installation, improper use or the use of non-original parts may negatively affect performance and exclude manufacturer liability.
Lift-slide hardware is available for different sash weights and window configurations, including versions for 200 kg, 300 kg and 400 kg. Depending on the configuration, solutions are available for 2- to 4-part elements. The correct selection of rollers, locking units, handles, rails and cover profiles is essential for proper long-term performance.
Regular maintenance is necessary to ensure safety and service life. Moving parts and locking points should be checked, lubricated and inspected for wear and proper function at least once a year. Cleaning should only be carried out using mild, pH-neutral products that do not affect corrosion protection.
Environmental conditions also play an important role. In damp rooms, aggressive or corrosive atmospheres and demanding applications such as burglar-resistant or barrier-free systems, suitable materials and dedicated hardware combinations must be selected.
